Mixed Feelings after Hungary

The race weekend in Hungary started great, our drivers were always in the top positions of the Reiter Young Stars Competition and the car had a good balance all weekend long. After Qualifying, we happened to start on P14 for Race 1 (Laura) and P9 for Race 2 (Jamie). Unfortunately, directly after the Qualifying, we had to report to the race directors and got pushed to the end of the Grid for Race 2 after overtaking under yellow flag on Jamie’s inlap.

With the goal of winning the Reiter Young Stars Cup, Laura got a lot of space in front of her and was able to put in some good laps while keeping up with the cars in front. After a good driver change, Jamie was able to keep up the good pace and overtook another KTM in the final lap of the race to make it up to P10 overall! It was a good race from both our drivers, ending up with a Win in the Reiter Young Stars Cup Ranking for Laura and a good P5 for Jamie in his Ranking!

Race 2, however, was very difficult. After starting from behind, it was hard to fight with all the other cars, which had a huge advantage on the straights. With all that traffic, it was difficult to get some good laps in for him. It got worse during the pitstop, which was really got. After letting Laura go just in time to top the minimum Pit Stop time, a guy from another team ran across the pitlane and Laura had to stop again while the car stalled. That did cost us 16 seconds and even worse, a good track position. In the end of the race, Laura was driving behind Caitlyn Wood, who is the current leader in the Female Reiter Young Stars Championship and could not get past. In the end, it was a hard race and Laura finished P2 in her Championship.

With only one weekend to go, Laura still has the Chance to win her class with only 13 seconds behind Caitlyn Wood. With two races left, she still has it in her own hands!
